RESUMO O presente estudo se propõe a analisar a imagem do Museu Inhotim, com o intuito de verificar se a imagem percebida por uma parte da população da cidade de Brumadinho é coerente com a identidade projetada pela empresa. Para mapeamento das identidades foram realizadas entrevistas semi-estruturadas com os gestores, fundador e funcionários. O Inhotim foi inaugurado há um ano e quatro meses e, desde então, não há registros de estudos que abordem o tema sobre esta perspectiva. Os conceitos imagem e identidade, fundamentaram as conclusões obtidas. Estabeleceram-se métodos quantitativos e qualitativos através de entrevistas e questionários. Com este estudo buscou-se compreender a relação existente entre os moradores da cidade e o Museu, levando-se em conta as características da cultura local e as expectativas almejadas por ambas as partes.

ABSTRACT This study aims to analyze the image of the Museum Inhotim in order to determine if the image perceived by a part of the population of the city of Brumadinho is consistent with the identity projected by the company. For mapping of identities were conducted semi-structured interviews with managers, founder and officials. The Inhotim was inaugurated a year and four months and since then no records of studies that address the topic on this prospect. The concepts image and identity, substantiate the findings. They are quantitative and qualitative methods in interviews and questionnaires. With this study sought to understand the relationship between the inhabitants of the city and the museum, taking into account the characteristics of the local culture and expectations by both sides.
