PROJECT: Technology transfer systems in brazil: approach, performance and evaluation
ABSTRACT: The technology transfer process and university/ industry/ government interactions have been the subject of extensive research as part of the current debate on development and technological innovation within an ecosystem. This research aims to understanding the models, barriers, gaps and limitations of the technology transfer process that occurs between agents and/ or sectors involved. The conceptual approach to technology, technological innovation and technology transfer, such as knowledge transfer, has a theoretical basis that allows including the mechanisms, services, experiences, information and actors involved as a relevant component for the success of the transfer due the complexity of its execution and implementation. The research proposes to establish a standard agenda (a hybrid model) for technology transfer to be used in the Scientific, Technological and Innovation Institution (ICT, in Portuguese Instituição Científica, Tecnológica e de Inovação) and/ or Technological Innovation Center (NIT, in Portuguese Núcleo de Inovação Tecnológica) in Brazil. This new model aims to reduce the conflicts observed in the various Brazilian ICT’s and/ or NIT’s when it acts in the connection between producing agents and consuming agents of technological innovation. The controversial discussion about which is the best model or type of technology transfer leads us to research whether it is possible to have a specific model of technology transfer to Scientific, Technological and Innovation Institutions (ICT’s) and/ or to the Technological Innovation Centers (NIT’s) in Brazil.

PROJECT: Microcredit as a factor to promote the development of micro-businesses and informal activities in Minas Gerais
ABSTRACT: This study aims to verify the influence of microcredit on the development of micro-businesses and on the quality of life of families, through multivariate statistical methods and the elaboration of a Structural Equation Modeling. The object of this study will be Civil Society Organizations of Public Interest (OSCIP, in Portuguese Organizações da Sociedade Civil de Interesse Público), exclusively, focused on the Productive and Oriented Microcredit Program (PMPO, in Portuguese Programa de Microcrédito Produtivo e Orientado). The non-probabilistic sample consisted of microentrepreneurs borrowing from these institutions in the state of Minas Gerais. As a result, it intends to observe whether negotiations with suppliers have a positive influence on business management. Business management has a positive influence on access to the media, leisure activities and quality of life. Access to the media and leisure activities have a positive influence on the quality of life. In the evaluation of the proposed model, it intends to verify whether the variables presented, when previously associated, explain the changes in the Quality of Life of families benefited with microcredit.

PROJECT: Growth, logevity and entrepreneur characteristics: analysis of micro and small companies in the mesoregion of the North of Minas Gerais
ABSTRACT: Micro and small companies play an important role for social promotion, supporting political stability and driving force for development, and stand out in the generation of jobs and income distribution of a country, therefore, continuity must be stimulated. For this reason, it is important to know the aspects that would assist in such continuity. The existence of entrepreneurial behavioral characteristics in business owners would facilitate business longevity. However, there are incipient studies that reveal the presence of these characteristics in micro and small companies’ owners. Therefore, this project had the central objective of identifying whether the presence of behavioral characteristics in the owners of micro and small companies in the North of Minas Gerais is determinant for the longevity of these companies. This study is empirical-descriptive, in which a structured questionnaire was used in the data collection, obtaining the return of respondents, being analyzed through descriptive statistics and discriminant analysis. The sample will be segmented into three groups of entrepreneurs categorized by the longevity of the companies, to assess a possible difference regarding the presence of the characteristics, according to the age of the companies.

PROJECT: Individual and collective investment decisions: the effect of biases based on self-illusion
ABSTRACT: The research project aims to investigate the individual and collective decision making process of financial decision makers from the perspective of Behavioral Finance and the Sociological Perspectives of Finance, in order to develop a more comprehensive view of the judgment and decision-making processes of managers and investors. In this sense, unlike researchers in the area of Modern Finance who focus on the behavior of asset prices, in the present work we will focus on the behavior of managers and investors, assuming the influence of psychosocial factors in the decision-making process of individuals and groups. Such research effort requires investigating the micro (individuals), meso (small and medium groups) and analysis macros (large organizations and financial markets), being necessary to employ experiments, document analysis, network analysis and analysis of variance and regression.
