RESUMO Esta pesquisa está centrada nas novas exigências profissionais para os professores, sem a necessária adequação das condições de trabalho e a responsabilidade desses profissionais sobre sua formação, obrigando-os a buscar constantemente, por sua própria conta, formas de requalificação, o que não é o suficiente para atender a tais exigências. Para compreender melhor essa realidade, este estudo objetivou analisar a percepção dos docentes de quatro escolas estaduais na região metropolitana de Belo Horizonte em relação ao trabalho e o risco de adoecimento. Nesta pesquisa, procurou-se ainda comparar os resultados entre os grupos de professores envolvidos de acordo com a localização das escolas. A metodologia desenvolvida nesta investigação foi de natureza descritiva, pesquisa qualitativa com abordagem quali-quantitativa. Para tanto, procedeu-se à aplicação do questionário de Inventário do Trabalho, Risco e Adoecimento – ITRA –, composto por 04 escalas validadas por Mendes (2003), em 108 sujeitos e para a qualitativa foram realizados entrevistas semi-estruturadas com 05 professores de escolas localizadas em área de risco e 05 professores em escolas consideradas de não risco, de acordo com a categorização estabelecida pela Secretaria de Estado e Educação – a partir dos Índices de Vulnerabilidade Social realizado pela Polícia Militar de Minas Gerais e pelo Centro de Estudos em Criminalística e Segurança Pública da UFMG – caracterizando-se como um estudo de caso. Os resultados apresentados mostraram as necessidades em se buscar soluções para as demandas levantadas que envolvem o prazer e o sofrimento dos professores. Observou-se a necessidade de implantação de uma política educacional que, além de valorizar os profissionais da educação, se preocupe efetivamente com as condições físicas, estruturais e materiais das escolas já que estas influenciam, de maneira direta, no desempenho e na práxis do professor dentro e fora da escola, fugindo de improvisações que podem representar um diferencial importante na qualidade de vida do profissional.

ABSTRACT This research is based in the new professional demands for the teachers, without the necessary adaptation of the work conditions and those professionals’ responsibility about your formation, forcing them to look for constantly, for your own bill, re-qualification forms, what is not enough to assist to such demands. To intend and understand that reality better, this study aimed at to analyze the teachers’ of four state schools perception in the metropolitan area of Belo Horizonte in relation to the work and the sickness risk. In this research, it was tried to compare the results among the teachers’ groups still involved in agreement with the location of the schools. The methodology developed in this investigation it was of descriptive nature, with qualitative approach with the qualitative and quantitative approach. It was proceeded the application of the questionnaire of – ITRA – Inventory of the Work, Risk and illness, composed by 04 scales validated by Mendes (2003), in 108 individuals and for the qualitative interviews were accomplished semi-structured with 05 teachers of located schools in risk area and 05 teachers in considered schools of I don’t scratch out, in agreement with the established categorization for the Clerkship of State and Education – starting from the Indexes of Social Vulnerability accomplished by the military police of Minas Gerais and for the Center of Studies in Criminals and Public Security at UFMG – being characterized as a case study. The results pointed out the necessities to search for solutions related to the demands presented in this study which involve the suffering and the pleasure of the teachers. The necessity to implement an educational policy that not only valorizes the professionals in the education area but actually worries about the schools’ physical, structural and material conditions since they influence the teachers’ performance and praxis inside and outside the schools directly, avoiding the improvisations that might represent an important differential on the professional’s quality of life.
