RESUMO Percebe-se que o consumo de bens vem aumentando, consideravelmente, em boa parte do mundo. Para atender essa demanda, empresas têm extraído os mais diversos tipos de recursos naturais destinados à produção de bens para os mercados consumidores. Contudo, sabe-se que os recursos retirados da natureza são esgotáveis e por isso as organizações devem utilizar novas estratégias para captação de matéria-prima alternativa para ser usada no seu ciclo produtivo. Nesse sentido, o processo de logística reversa de pós-consumo por meio dos procedimentos de coleta, reutilização e reciclagem dos resíduos descartados no meio ambiente pode contribuir para o abastecimento de matéria-prima secundária para as indústrias. Com a intenção de verificar o papel da Asmare no processo de logística reversa de pós-consumo, realizou-se uma pesquisa na Associação dos Catadores de Papel, Papelão e Material Reaproveitável (Asmare). Para isso, foi realizado um estudo de caso de natureza qualitativa. O conjunto de sujeitos da pesquisa foi composto por um gerente administrativo, dois coordenadores de produção e dois auxiliares de produção. Na análise dos dados obtidos por meio de entrevistas e de observação, constatou-se que a Asmare pratica as atividades da logística reversa através da coleta de diversos tipos de resíduos nas ruas de Belo Horizonte. Ainda reutiliza alguns desses resíduos para outros fins e também comercializa e recicla parte deles. Conclui-se que o processo de logística reversa de pós-consumo realizado pela Asmare não contribui apenas com a limpeza da cidade e com a inclusão social dos catadores, mas principalmente protege o meio ambiente por meio da reutilização e reciclagem dos resíduos, ofertando dessa maneira matéria-prima secundária para as empresas de transformação.

ABSTRACT It is seen that the consumption of goods has been increasing considerably, in many parts of the world. In order to understand this demand, companies have removed the most various types of natural resources intended for the production of goods for the consumer markets. However, it is known that the funds withdrawn from nature are exhaustible and why organizations should use new strategies to capture an alternative raw material to be used in its production cycle. In this sense, the process of reverse logistics of post-consumption by means of the procedures for collection, reuse and recycling of the waste discarded in the environment can contribute to the supply of secondary raw material for the industries. With the intention of check Asmare the role of the reverse logistics of post-consumer the research was conducted in Association of Paper, Cardboard and Reusable Material Gatherers (Asmare). For this reason, we performed a case study of a qualitative nature. The set of research subjects was composed of an administrative manager, two coordinators of production and two auxiliary production. In the analysis of data obtained by means of interviews and observation, it was found that Asmare practices activities of reverse logistics through the collection of various types of waste in the streets of Belo Horizonte. Still reuse some of these residues for other purposes and also sell and recycle part of them. It is concluded that the process of reverse logistics of post-consumption performed by Asmare’s not only contributes to the cleanliness of the city and with the social inclusion of the gatherers, but mainly protects the environment by means of reusing and recycling of waste, offering this way secondary raw material for processing firms.
